I really expect the Eagles’ defense to dominate this game. Julio will have his catches, but if we can limit his big plays and neutralize the running game, the Falcons are hopeless. The defense has been a big reason for the Eagles’ success all season, and on Saturday they’re going to be the reason we’re heading to the NFC Championship game. Eagles 24 Falcons 13

Not to take anything away from Atlanta, but it should be acknowledged that the Rams played a big role in their loss last weekend. The first half saw a fumbled return and a muffed punt lead to 10 of the Falcons first 13 points. Then there’s the inexcusable fact that Sean McVay only gave Todd Gurley 14 carries even though he was averaging 7.2 yards per tote. I look at these two factors as big reasons why the Falcons jumped out to a lead and why the Rams failed to close the gap – both of which have more to do with LA than Atlanta. Teams haven’t been able to establish the run against this league leading rush defense all season long, considering the Birds are well rested and playing in the confines of Lincoln Financial Field, I don’t expect this matchup to be any different. Likewise, I don’t see Pederson abandoning an effective run game like McVay did. I’ll take Jay Ajayi to eclipse 20 carries for 100+ yards while Matt Ryan is left scrambling from what should be an energetic defense flying around with a chip on its shoulder. Eagles 20 Falcons 13

The Eagles are home underdogs as the top seed in the NFC. The threat of Atlanta is warranted with their hot play in recent weeks. They haven’t faced a defense this stoudt, which I think will slow their offense. Look for Cox or Jernigan to force a fumble or two that proves to be game changing. If they can get pressure on Matt Ryan, Nick Foles and the run game will carry us to enough points for the win. Eagles 24 Falcons 21.
