Kimmo Timonen: From his arrival to the team in the 2007-2008 season, Timonen established himself as the powerplay quarterback and a fan favorite for the next seven seasons. A very intelligent player who played with heart, Timonen had a plus/minus of +44 and 270 points in 519 games. After being traded to Chicago during the 2015 trade deadline, Timonen won the Stanley Cup to cap off a great career. It is probably the only time I ever rooted for the Blackhawks.
Ivan Provorov: The seventh overall pick in the 2015 NHL draft, Provorov has developed into a top pair defenseman in a pretty short amount of time. In his rookie season he was awarded with the Barry Ashbee Trophy, which is given to the team’s best defenseman. He then scored 17 goals in the following season and played his heart out while injured in those 2018 playoffs against the Penguins. Although he had a down year last season, Provorov now works the point on the first unit powerplay, and had 13 goals before this season was suspended.
